Aurora Pryor, MD, MBA

Aurora graduated Duke University with Biomedical Engineering and Electrical Engineering degrees. She then went on to Duke medical school and is now an internationally renowned Minimally Invasive Surgeon. Over several decades, Aurora has been on teams developing new medical devices and bringing them to market. She was one of the Co-founders of a startup that grew to become Transenterix, a publicly traded MedTech company responsible for the Spyder single port MIS platform. Aurora holds various leadership positions at Northwell Health in NYC and and continues to practice surgery and innovate.

Bill Beasley, BSE

Bill graduated Duke University with Mechanical Engineering and Mathematics degrees. He has for over 33 years led product development, held leadership positions and grew multiple companies from the ground up. For over a decade, Bill worked with and led a $750M business unit of international telecom giant Sumitomo Electric where they developed new devices for growing market segments and saw them through commercialization and manufacturing. Most recently, he has turned his focus to device development in the Medtech sector.

Zach Plona, MD, MSE

Zach graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.S in Bioengineering. He then completed medical school at Sidney Kimmel Medical College and received his Master’s in Medical Device Design and Innovation from John’s Hopkins University. He is currently completing his General Surgery Residency at Stony Brook Medicine. He has worked on multiple surgical device design projects during his medical training and aims to continue pursuing innovation throughout his surgical career.
